Description: |
Slender wiry climber up to several metres, latex colour not recorded; young shoots pubescent with short hairs. Leaves narrowly ovate-elliptic, 5–13 cm long, more or less hairless on both surfaces; petiole c. 0.5–1.5 cm long, sparsely to densely pubescent. Inflorescences extra-axillary, densely spreading-pubescent, umbelliform; peduncles 0.5–3 cm long; pedicels 1–2 cm long. Sepals linear or triangular, 2–4 mm long, pubescent. Corolla colour highly variable, red, white or yellow, united at the base into a shallowly bowl c. 0.5–0.7 cm in diameter; corolla lobes broadly oblong, 3–5 mm long; margins ciliate. Corolline corona absent. Staminal corona lobes fleshy, ovoid drawn out into a weak point, c.1.5 mm long. Follicles not seen. |
