Description: |
Woody, hairless climber with stems up to 1.5 m long growing from a cylindrical root tuber. Leaves sessile to shortly petiolate, opposite on normal shoots, clustered on stunted lateral shoots, linear to very narrowly ovate, 4.5–8.5 cm long; margin rolled under and wavy. Inflorescences lax, with few-flowered branches; peduncles 1–2 cm long, pedicels 3–5 mm long. Sepals ovate-triangular, 1 mm long. Corolla tube shallowly campanulate, 0.5–1.0 mm long; lobes linear to oblong-ovate, slightly reflexed, 6–11 mm long, pale greenish outside, inside creamy yellow, white flushed mauve-pink to mauve-purple or pale mauve. Corona creamy yellow, annulus c. 0.5 mm high, lobes cylindrical, 2–3 mm long; terminal part 2-3-fid, longest segment, 2–4 mm long. Follicles cylindrical-ovoid, 8–9 cm long, reddish brown. |
