Description:
Perennial herb to 1 m tall. Leaves: petiole to 5.5 cm; lamina 10-20 × 4-9 cm, ovate to elliptic, puberulous along lateral and main veins; apex acute to shortly acuminate; margin crenate. Inflorescence 15-30 cm long. Flowers solitary or in 3-flowered cymes. Calyx 7-11 mm, bearing capitate glands. Corolla 2.2-2.8 cm along upper lip; lips purple with long curly hairs all over. Capsule 1-1.3 cm long.
