Description: |
Small, leafless, dioecious shrub; internodes of distal branches 20–30 mm long, the ultimate branchlets flattened, but primary stems rounded. Bracteal cups of pistillate flowers sessile, with a spreading rim. Staminate plants unknown. Pistillate flowers borne subsessile and singly. Berries shortly pedicellate, ovoid-oblong, c. 4 mm indiameter, smooth. Ring scar left by perianth 1.5 mm in diameter, swollen, forming a rounded edge. |

Notes: | Known only from the type specimen (Ibo, Quissanga, MacNae) and from two photographic records taken in Pemba Bay by Ton Rulkens in 2014. The two records are on different species of mangrove, Sonneratia alba and Ceriops tagal. |
