Description: |
Evergreen shrub or small tree to 15 m. Leaves strongly leathery; lamina 3-9 × 1.5-4.5 cm, obovate, blue-green and hairless above, discolorous, slightly pubescent beneath; base acute; apex rounded, often slightly emarginate; margin thickened, sightly rolled under. Flowers white, borne in clusters of up to 8 in leaf axils. Calyx brownish-pubescent. Corolla: tube c. 1.5 mm; median segments lanceolate; lateral segments of corolla each divided to the base into 2 narrowly triangular laciniae. Fruit ovoid, up to 2.5 cm long, orange-red when ripe; fruiting calyx not reflexed. |
