Description: |
Scrambling shrub. Older branches distinctly square-angled. Leaves oblanceolate to obovate, light green with stellate hairs on both surfaces; margins irregularly toothed. Flowers yellow, axillary in groups of 2 or 3. |
Notes: | This species is similar to Grewia olukondae, which was formerly considered a variety of G. flavescens. They can be distinguished as follows: G. flavescens has narrower leaves with a rounded or square base and flower stalks less than 10 mm; G. olukondae has broader, almost circular leaves with a rounded, often lobed base and flower stalks longer than 10 mm. |
