Description: |
Terrestrial herb with a creeping fleshy rhizome. Leaves crowded near base of the stem, slightly obliquely ovate, 4–6 cm long; petiole distinct, c. 2 cm long, sheathing at the base. Flowering stem to c. 35 cm high, usually sparsely hairy but sometimes hairless, with 5–6 sheaths to 15 mm long. Inflorescence 2–6 cm long, fairly densely many-flowered; ovary and bracts usually sparsely glandular-hairy but sometimes hairless. Sepals buff to old-rose coloured; petals and lip translucent-white. Sepals oblong, 3–3.5 mm long, joined in basal half. Petals oblong, 2.5–3 mm long. Lip 2.5–3 mm long, concave at base and often with small outgrowths, constricted at about two thirds of its length, the apical third transversely oblong, 1.5–2 mm wide. |
