Spikelet ovoid, 2.5 mm long enclosed by long silky hairs often with pink tinge, awn lacking. Spikelet stalk fine undulating. Anthers exerted, 1.5 mm long, golden yellow. Ligule a band of dense white hairs with longer silky hairs on collar.
