Description: |
Climber with branched, fleshy, hairless, twining stems up to 10 meters long. Leaves more or less fleshy, ovate-lanceolate, 8–60 mm long, cordate at the base, hairless on both surfaces; petiole 3–8 mm long. Inflorescence extra-axillary, pedunculate, hairless. Pedicel 10–20 mm long, hairless. Sepals narrowly lanceolate, 4–10 mm long, hairless, somewhat keeled. Corolla 30–70 mm long, bent at right angles above basal inflation; basal chamber slightly enlarged, c.4.5 mm wide, limb funnel-shaped, 4.5–6 mm wide, widening to 10–22 mm at mouth; pink or yellowish outside with darker blotches except at base, hairless, inside with long hairs in mouth and in basal chamber; lobes triangular 10–30 mm long, apices abruptly connivent into linear column with subglobose tip, whitish or pale green with fine reticulate reddish lines, hairless; column dark, hairless, 5–15 mm long, sometimes absent, terminal head 5–6 mm wide, dark purple with prominently ciliate margins. Follicles strongly falcate, 12–14 cm long, recurved at the tips. |
