Description: |
A densely hairy, climber, up to 3 m or higher. Stem twining, branched, pubescent,with a ring of simple, minute whitish-translucent hairs at the nodes. Leaves spreading, ovate to broadly ovate, 3–10 cm long, deeply cordate at the base; pubescent on both sides; petiole 1.5–6(8) cm long, pubescent. Inflorescence branched, up to 15 cm long, profusely flowering, many flowers opening simultaneously; pedicels 10–35 mm, mostly pubescent. Sepals 2–4 mm long, hairless or pubescent. Corolla 10–20 mm long, hairless; tube subcylindric or slightly inflated towards base, 6–12 mm long; pale yellow or cream; lobes linear, 5–10 mm long, erect, mostly connecting at apex to form a cage, sometimes orange-yellow. Follicles paired, subparallel, narrowly cylindric, 7.5–12 cm long, constricted between the seeds. |
