Description: |
Plants apparently intermediate between D. plowesii and D. formosum occur in the Stapleford Forest Reserve and in Chimanimani (Zimbabwe and Mozambique). These are often taller and have more flowers per spike than D. plowesii and may have pendulous lateral spikes. The bracts range from white and lightly flecked red-brown to entirely red-brown in the same population (se Hilliard & Burtt, loc.cit.for details). The species group requires further field investigation. (Note by Peter Goldblatt under Dierama plowesii in Flora Zambsiaca volume 12 part 4: 46, 199 |
