Description: |
Plants up to 75 cm tall from fleshy cylindrical wooly tuberous roots; leaves numerous, up to 6 x 2 cm, lanceolate, densely pubescent; inflorescence densely many flowered, 4-35 x 2.5-3.5 cm; ovary and pedicel 1.5-2.5 cm long, pubescent, purple; bracts leaf-like, up to 25 x 6 mm, lanceolate, pubescent; flowers mauve-pink to purple-pink and orange to yellow in centre, sepals often darker at tips; sepals 5-8 x 2-4.5 mm, pubescent, dorsal sepal ovate, convex forming a hood with petal, lateral sepals spreading , obliquely ovate; petals 4.5-7 x 2-4 mm, obliquely ovate, attached to column at base, sparesly pubescent on outside; lip hypochile forming sac-like, 2-3 mm long, right angle bend between hypochile and epichile, epichile 6-9 x 6-9 mm, 3-lobed near apex, side lobes rounded, mid lobe narrow, shorter or equal to side lobes. |
