Description:
Climbing shrub; bark with numerous small lenticels. Leaves oblong-elliptic or oblong, glabrous on both surfaces; petiole c. 5 mm long; stipules subulate. Inflorescence a short axillary cyme, peduncle 1-3 mm long. Sepals oblong, c. 3 mm, tomentose. Petals lanceolate, c. 4 mm, deeply 2-lobed. Ovary tomentose. Fruit c. 1.5 × 1 cm, ellipsoid, densely white-tomentose.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: barbosae: named after the collector of the type specimen
Habitat: In woodland and sand forest and on the margins of rivers.
