Description:

Shrub or small tree, occasionally scandent. Stems armed with conical spiny bosses; branches armed with straight or curved spines. Leaves imparipinnate with 3-4 pairs of opposite leaflets and a terminal leaflet; leaflets oblong-elliptic to ovate, 7-15 cm long, translucent gland-dots present all over the leafblade; margin finely and obscurely toothed or scalloped. Rhachis rarely with 1-2 small prickles. Flowers in branched terminal sprays, white, unisexual on different trees. Fruit spherical, 5 mm in diameter, orange to red, densely gland-dotted. |
