Description: |
Perennial herb or small shrub, up to c. 2.5 m tall. Branchlets appressed stellate hairy. Leaves broadly ovate to almost circular in outline, 1-3 cm long, often 3-lobed, 3-5-veined, sparsely stellate-hairy; margin serrate; petiole up to8 mm long; stipules 2-4 mm long. Flowers solitary, axillary on a peduncle up to 3.5 cm long, 1.5-2.5 cm in diameter, white turning pink or purplish when older. Epicalyx usually of 7 bracts, 2-3 mm long, filiform. Calyx up to 6.5 mm long with lobes elliptic-triangular, 5 mm long. Capsule subglobose, 10 mm in diameter,minutely pubescent. Seeds with a white or slightly brownish silky floss. |
