Description: |
Cycad with a stem up to 3 m high and 80 cm in diameter. Leaves 100-150 cm long, dark glossy green; rhachis green, straight, stiff, not spirally twisted; petiole straight, with 6-12 prickles; leaf-base collar absent; basal leaflets reducing to spines. Leaflets lanceolate, up to 200 × 30 mm, weakly discolorous, not lobed; margins recurved; entire or with 1-3 teeth. Male cones 1-3, narrowly ovoid, 25-30 cm long and 6-8 cm in diameter, yellow. Female cones 1-3, ovoid, yellow, 26-30 cm long and 14-16 cm in diameter, yellow. Seeds oblong, 40-60 mm long and 20-25 mm wide, sarcotesta red or yellow. |
