Description: |
Erect or prostrate plant to 20-60 cm tall. Stems glabrous or hairy arising from a woody rootstock. Leaves with the ratio of length to width in the range of 6.3-54, linear to lanceolate or oblong, glabrous or margins ciliate. Stipules of 3-5 linear segments. Main inflorescence terminal, a head or short spike, becoming a spike up to 9 cm long; peduncle elongating in fruit. Foliaceous calyx lobe 4-10 mm long. Corolla blue or violet-blue; lobes 3.5-5 mm long. Ovary 2-locular. Fruit black, obcordate, laterally compressed, consisting of 2 cocci. |
