Description: |
Erect annual or biennial herb to 3 m. Stems branched, the branches and the inflorescence branches glabrous. Leaves c. 5-22 cm long, narrowly elliptic to narrowly lanceolate; apex attenuate. Inflorescence a large terminal panicle. Capitula c. 4 mm long, numerous. Phyllaries in 3-4 rows, the inner longest, narrowly lanceolate, glabrous. Ray florets numerous, the corolla narrowly cylindric, fimbriate at apex. Disk florets fewer, yellow. Achenes of ray florets c. 0.8 mm long, narrowly obovate, flattened, ± 2-ribbed, minutely tuberculate; those of the disk florets narrowly oblong, 2-4-ribbed and not tuberculate. |
