Description: |
Erect, ± sticky and aromatic, annual or biennial, herb, up to1.5 m. Leaves sessile, variable; lamina up to c.10 cm, linear to narrowly lanceolate or narrowly oblanceolate, subentire or coarsely dentate to lobed or more deeply lobed; base amplexicaul. Inflorescence of lax, elongate or corymbose, terminal or axillary panicles. Capitula c.12-15 mm, hemispherical, often nodding. Phyllaries 2-5-seriate. Achenes c.1 mm, oblanceolate, flattened, minutely pubescent, ribbed at the edges. Pappus of numerous, barbellate setae, united at the base, persistent and very accrescent. |
