Description: |
Climbing shrub, often scrambling over other vegetation, to 8 m. Leaves: petiole to c. 2 cm; lamina 2.5-12 × 1.5-10 cm, broadly ovate to lanceolate, sparsely puberulent above, whitish-tomentellous beneath, strongly 3-nerved from base; base cuneate; apex ± long-acuminate; margin entire to remotely serrate. Capitula numerous, in dense ± spherical clusters. Involucre 4-7 × 3-6 mm. Phyllaries numerous, mealy-hairy outside with a mucronate apex and ciliate margin. Corolla 7-10 mm, orange-yellow. Achenes 1.2-2.5 mm, narrowly obovoid-cylindric, somewhat angular or faintly ribbed. Pappus with an outer whorl of short linear setae and an inner of barbellate setae 4-6.5 mm. |
