Notes: | The species known as F. magnifica in the account in FZ has subsequently been split into 2 species which occur in the FZ area. The species occurring in Zimbabwe remains F. magnifica, whereas plants from Malawi have been named F. abbreviata Bidgood. F. abbreviata is cultivated in the National Botanic Gardens in Harare and also in gardens in Harare. We have therefore included it as a cultivated plant. The two species may be separated using the following key, adapted from Bidgood: 1. Flowers borne singly or in few-flowered inflorescences without a stout rhachis; anther-thecae 5-8 mm ... abbreviata 1. Flowers in many-flowered racemes with a stout rhachis; anther-thecae 9-12 mm ... magnifica |
