Description:
Shrubby perennial herb up to 1 m tall. Stems quite densely leafy, set with sharply upcurved hairs. Leaves alternate, clustered, largest 7 - l5 mm, narrowly elliptic-oblong or oblanceolate, largest 7 - l5 mm long, midrib slightly channelled above, slightly raised below, either hairless with gland dots and short hooked hairs on midline of one or both surfaces; margins entire. Flowers in dense, many-flowered, corymbose heads, mauve-pink, anthers well exserted.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: anatrichota: upwards hairy, referring to the sharply upcurved hairs on the stems.
Habitat: Scrubby areas among rocks.
Altitude range: 1650 - 1800 m
Flowering time:
Worldwide distribution: Only known from the Chimanimani Mts of Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
Mozambique distribution: MS
