Description:
Erect perennial herb up to 50 cm, rarely taller; hairless. Stem branching from the base or simple, narrowly winged. Leaves opposite, without a petiole. Flowers solitary, axillary on long pedicels, white with yellow spots in the throat.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: gracilis: graceful, slender
Habitat: A species of damp situations usually near or in water.
Altitude range: 250 - 1530 m
Flowering time:Aug - Feb
Worldwide distribution: Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Nigeria, Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and South Africa. Also in Yemen, India, China and Australia.
