Description:
Perennial herb, much-branched from near the base with glandular hairy, sticky stems, 15-25 cm. Leaves subsessile, somewhat leathery, linear-oblanceolate to obovate, up to 40 × 5mm with numerous sunken glands; margin obscurely toothed, often rolled under. Flowers in terminal racemes; corolla up to 10 mm in diameter, mauve to pink.
Notes: Specimens in the photographs are the first records for Mozambique.
Derivation of specific name: tenuiflorus: with slender flowers
Habitat: In dry open woodland.
Altitude range: Up to 700 m
Flowering time:
Worldwide distribution: Botswana, Malawi, Zimbabwe, northern South Africa. Also Ethiopia, Somalia, Socotra and the Arabian Peninsula.
Mozambique distribution: MS
