Description: |
Perennial climber with twining stems up to 2 m long. Leaves highly variable from broadly ovate to narrowly lanceolate, often on the same plant, 2-6 cm long, leathery, hairless, dark green above, much paler beneath; petiole purplish-red, hairless, 4–15 mm long. Inflorescences axillary, compact, many-flowered. Sepals broadly ovate, c 1.5 mm long, margin fimbriate. Corolla greenish, deep cream or pale yellow, hairless; tube campanulate, 1.5–2.0 mm long; lobes spreading, oblong, 2–3 mm long. Corona double; lower lobes clavate, 0.8–1.0 mm long, hairless, greenish to yellowish; upper lobes pocket-like, hairless. Follicles erect, widely divaricate, more or less narrowly ovoid, 3–6 cm long, finely ribbed. |
