Description: |
Large liane. Bark grey, smooth, with lenticels; milky sap present. Leaves opposite, ovate-elliptic, 4.5-8 cm long, dark green above, paler below, leathery, the lamina puckered along the veins; margin entire, sometimes slightly rolled under. Flowers in very dense, many-flowered terminal and lateral inflorescences; corolla white, often reddish on the outside. Fruit in paired slender follicles, 25 - 70 [!] cm long, grey. Seeds with an apical tuft of golden hairs, c. 5 cm long. |
