Description:
Mostly a shrub, up to c. 3 m tall, sometimes with long somewhat scramblimg branches. Leaves opposite, simple, lanceolate, oblong-elliptic or narrowly ovate, up to 4.5 × 3 cm but usually much smaller, pointed at the apex, hairless; margin entire, often slightly thickened. Flowers terminal on short lateral branches, solitary or rarely 2-3 together, very sweetly scented. Corolla white inside, reddish outside; tube 17-32 mm long; lobes (6)9-12, oblong, 15-18 mm long. Fruit usually 2-lobed, 7-12 mm long when dry.
