Description:
Medium-sized to large tree. Bark grey-brown, mottled, rough and scaly; milky latex present. Leaves spirally arranged, crowded at the ends of branches, broadly elliptic to obovate, 5-17 cm long, leathery, glossy dark green with midrib indented above, dull green with midrib and lateral veins prominent below; margin entire, thickened. New foliage distinctly coppery-red. Flowers in few-flowered axillary clusters, creamy-white to yellow, c. 1.5 cm in diameter, honey-scented. Fruit ellipsoid to spherical with a short point, 2-4 cm in diameter, yellow to red when ripe, milky, cupped in the calyx lobes.
