Description:
Prostrate, creeping perennial herb, rooting at the nodes. Leaves round to kidney-shaped with a narrow but deeply cordate base, up to 5 × 4.5 cm, with 5-15 lobes varying from very shallow to about halfway to the centre of the leaf, nearly hairless or with scattered bristly hairs above, more densely so below, especially on the veins; margin crenate-dentate to almost entire; petiole 1.5-11 cm long, more or less densely hairy with white bristly hairs. Flowers minute, greenish-white, in 10-30-flowered, dense spherical umbels.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: mannii: after Gustav Mann (1836-1916), British colonial representative in the Gulf of Guinea, who collected plants in that area.
Habitat: In moist grassy areas, often on disturbed soil and as a weed in lawns.
