Description: |
Small, often multi-stemmed tree, with 4-angled, hairless branches. Leaves opposite, oblong-ovate or elliptic-oblong, 5-9 cm long, leathery, hairless, minutely dotted with translucent glands and with a gland on the midrib just below the apex; margin entire and narrowly rolled under; petiole 3-4 mm long. Inflorescences in dense, many-flowered terminal heads, 6-12 cm long. Flowers creamy-white with petals c. 4 mm long, falling early; stamens 8 mm long. Fruit a globose capsule, up to 5 mm in diameter. |
