Description: |
Perennial herb. Stems few to many, mostly unbranched, up to 80 cm, growing from a woody rhizome. Leaves alternate, erect, subsessile, elliptic, narrowly ovate or obovate, glaucous, glabrous. Inflorescence a terminal involucrate head, mostly 30-50-flowered. Flowers brilliant yellow to scarlet red. It is a typical pyrophyte, often flowering soon after the grass fires. |
