Description: |
Trailing herb 50 - 250 cm long, growing from a tuberous rootstock. Branches, greyish-green, pubescent; tendrils axillary and sometimes on the inflorescences, up to 10 cm long. Leaves ovate-oblong to subcircular in outline up to 15 × 15 cm, unlobed to 3-7-lobed, cordate to subtruncate at the base, brownish-green above, paler beneath, pubescent particularly on the veins; margin sinuate-dentate; petiole with 2 glands at the base of the lamina. Flowers axillary, unisexual. Male clusters 5-10-flowered; female clusters, 1-2-flowered. Capsule ovoid-ellipsoid, c. 4.5 × 3.5 cm. |
