Description:
Perennial creeping or climbing herb with several simple or branched shoots, up to 2.5 m long, usually c. 70 cm. Tendrils present. Leaves somewhat grey-green, 3-lobed; lobes oblong to ovate, mid-lobe largest; margin serrate-dentate. Leaf-like false stipules present. Flowers in few-flowered clusters, pale creamy-green, c. 1.3 cm in diameter; peduncle up to 6 cm, ending in a tendril or a mucro-like appendage. Sepals 5-7.5 mm, without keeled nerves. Fruit a capsule, c. 1.4 cm long.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: triloba: 3-lobed, referring to the leaves
Habitat: In grassland, scrub, riverine fringes and and along the margins of swamps.
