Description: |
Tall, deciduous tree to 40 m, often with a long tall unbranched trunk, the branching only above. Bark smooth, pale grey to yellowish grey; young branchlets with dense woolly, rusty-yellow hairs. Leaves crowded near the ends of branches, 3-7-lobed, maple-like. Flowers in hairy, few-flowered sprays, greenish to yellowish-brown, appearing before the leaves. Fruit splitting into 2-3 carpels, covered in rusty brown hairs; seeds brown with a yellow basal aril. |
