Description:
Woody climber or liane, reaching up to 20 m into the canopy of evergreen and riverine forest. Young branches, petioles and leaf-opposed tendrils densely covered with rusty, woolly hairs. Leaves alternate, 3-veined from the base, broadly rounded or kidney-shaped, shiny dark green above, paler below; margin dentate. Flowers in dense stalked heads, small, creamy-green. Fruit spherical, fleshy, red to black when ripe.
