Description: |
Hairless, scandent shrub or liane up to 5 m high or more; stems olive-green and 4-lined when young, becoming greyish-brown or sometimes wine-red, with numerous small white lenticels. Leaves more or less broadly elliptic to oblong, 4-8 cm long, yellow-green and concolorous, often rounded or emarginate at the apex, softly leathery, with 4-5 lateral veins and no noticeable reticulation; margin obtusely glandular-dentate or entire; petiole 4-22 mm long. Flowers in axillary lax,3-25-flowered inflorescences; sepals yellow-green with paler ciliolate-denticulate margins; petals yellow-green with entire margins,elliptic-oblong, 1.5 mm long, rounded; stamens 3-4. Mericarps olive-green to yellow-brown, flattened, obovate, smooth, 1-5-seeded. Seeds winged. |
