Description:	Scandent or scrambling shrub. Young stems covered in reddish-brown hairs, turning greyish with age. Leaves opposite, elliptic, shiny dark green above, paler below; margin shallowly serrate-crenate. Flowers in axillary clusters, greenish-yellow with reddish hairs on the outside. Fruit with 1-3 typical paddle-shaped carpels.

Habitat:	In dry forest and in rocky places in dry bush along major river valleys.
Altitude range:	Up to 450 m

Worldwide distribution:	Ethiopia, SE Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Limpopo, Mpumalanga, South Africa.
