Description:
Erect perennial herb up to 40 cm high, often woody near the base. Most parts pubescent with often gland-tipped hairs, sometimes also with scattered longer hairs. Leaves narrowly lanceolate to ovate, 2-4.4 cm long, more or less cordate at the base; margin crenate or serrate; petiole 1.5-5 cm long, usually more than half the length or even longer than the leaf lamina; stipules mostly 7-12 mm long, needle-like. Inflorescences usually 2-flowered, leaf-opposed or in the axil of apparently opposite leaves; peduncle 2.5-9 cm long. Flowers white, cream or yellowish; petals 11-23 mm long, obovate with a truncate apex; extra staminal glands inconspicuous ovate cavities. Fruit 6.5-10 cm long.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: glauca: glaucous, bluish-green
Habitat: In grassland, scrub and mopane woodland, on stony or sandy soils.
Altitude range: 100 - 1400 m
Flowering time:
Worldwide distribution: Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Northern Cape South Africa.
