Description: |
Spiny succulent shrub, sometimes a small tree, up to c. 2.5 m tall. Branching from the base or with a greyish trunk up to c. 1 m. Branches up to c. 1 m long, 4-6-angled, spreading-ascending, constricted into tapering segments, up to 25 × 6 cm. Spine-shields joined, forming a whitish horny margin on the wing-like angles. Leaves more or less linear, up to 34 × 4 mm, falling early. Flowers along the angles of the upper segments, unisexual, yellow. |
