Description:	Deciduous tree 9-20 m. Trunk very distinctive, pale grey to almost white, smooth and bearing peeling patches of pale brown papery bark. Leaves imparipinnate with 3-7 pairs of pinnae; leaflets mostly 7-13 pairs, slightly asymmetric, obovate-elliptic to ovate-oblong, 11-55 mm long, hairless or more or less crisped pubescent on both surfaces. Flowers usually before the new leaves; corolla pale green, 7-11 mm long, more or less brown hairy on the lobes; stamens numerous 1.5-4 cm long, white, greenish near the apex. Pods oblong, 10-35 cm long, hairless, more or less glossy brown, dehiscent.
