Description: |
Succulent perennial herb, often forming clumps or mats. Leaves succulent in erect or spreading rosettes at the ends of short stems and branches, often reddish brown, hairless or more or less densely covered in whitish hairs. Flowers in flattened or hemispherical branched inflorescences, white with reddish sepals. |
Notes: | Mozambique populations of this variety are known as forma argyrophylla (Diels ex Schönland & Baker f.) R. Fern. It is distinguished by its more or less dense indumentum of white hairs on the leaves. |
