Description: |
Small perennial herb, often resembling a moss or Lycopodium species, with prostrate, ascending or suberect stems, sometimes woody near the base in larger specimens. Leaves may be succulent or not, linear-lanceolate, light green, turning reddish-brown in drier situations. Flowers minute, borne among the leaves along the stems. |
Notes: | Subsp. lanceolata has thinner, more prostrate stems, rooting at the nodes. The leaves are softer and smaller and it is more restricted to montane habitats. |
