Description:
Stemless perennial herb. Leaves in a basal rosette. Lamina subcircular, 2-10 mm long, glandular on the upper surface and along the margins. Petiole 2-20 mm long, flattened and narrowly linear throughout its length. Flowering peduncles 1-4, arising laterally from the rosette, 4-30 cm long, erect, 2-12-flowered. Flowers white or pink.
Notes: This species is similar to Drosera dielsiana but can be distinguished by the subcircular leaf lamina, abruptly narrowed to a flattened petiole. D. dielsiana is restricted to montane seepage areas on rocks.
Derivation of specific name: burkeana: named after Joseph Burke (1812-1873), British botanist and collector who worked with botanist Carl Zeyher during several collecting expeditions in South Africa.
Habitat: In marshes, bogs, swamps and vleis.

Worldwide distribution: Angola, southern DRC, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini and Mpumalanga, South Africa. Also in Madagascar.
