Description:
Annual or perennial herb, erect or prostrate and sprawling. Branches and leaves opposite, variously hairy. Inflorescences greyish-white, in racemes, the clusters alternate and well-spaced.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: lappacea: burr-like; velutina: velvety
Habitat: In a wide variety of habitats, often in sandy soils.
Altitude range: Up to 1370 m
