Description:	Sparsely leafy, small virgate shrub, up to 1.5 m high; stems weakly ribbed by decurrent leaves. Leaves linear, up to 23 mm long but becoming much shorter upwards, midrib not visible. Flowers in lax 8-22-flowered terminal spikes; spikes together forming a spreading panicle. Bracts leaf-like, 2-3.5 mm long; each flower solitary and sessile in the axil of a bract. Perianth creamy-white, fading to browinsh-yellow; tube 1-1.3 mm long with inconspicuous ellipsoid glands; lobes oblong, 4-7-6 mm long; margins strongly inflexed, densely fringed with white curled hairs. Fruit 2.5-3 mm long and wide, pale reddish-brown, with lighly raised ribs and reticulations.
Notes:	The specimen in the images above (Hadj-Hammou 018, April 17 2014, SRGH,K, BR, LMA) is the first record for Mozambique.

Habitat:	In rocky places in Brachystegia woodland and scrub, on quartzite, granite or schist.
Altitude range:	1300 - 1675 m
