Perennial herb with a woody or somewhat stoloniferous caudex with many stems arising from the crown. Bracts 0.8-1.5 mm wide, linear, only adnate to part of the pedicel/peduncle (often only to lower quarter or half, higher in uppermost flowers). Flowers usually solitary in the axil of each bract, up to c. 10 racemosely arranged, often crowded. Perianth lobes with an apical beard. Fruits strongly ribbed and reticulate. |
