Description:
Small parasitic shrub with spreading stems up to 1 m. Branchlets tomentose with coarse stellate hairs. Leaves clustered on short shoots, oblong-elliptic or slightly ovate or obovate, stellate pubescent on both surfaces. Flowers in loose, candelabra-like, terminal inflorescences, arising from a tuft of leaves. Corolla 4-5 cm, greenish-yellow, sometimes tinged orange or with red inside, stellate tomentose and with longer hairs. Berry blue-green, 10-12 mm including the calyx, pubescent; seed orange to red. This species may be confused with E. ngamicum in leaf, but is distinguished by the pedicellate flowers, the longer hairs on the corolla, and blue fruits.

Habitat: Mostly in mopane woodland but also on a wide variety of other hosts, including cultivated species, such as Citrus, Jacaranda, Melia, Prunus and Psidium guajava.
