Status: | Native |
Description: |
Slender terrestrial herb. Leaves semi-erect, 4 to 8 cm, mostly near the base, sheathing higher along the stem. Inflorescence dense, many-flowered with bracts overtopping the flowers. Flowers pale pink to purple, petals and sepals almost circular; spur erect, sharply curved upwards with a blunt tip; lip up to 2.5 mm, rounded. |
Notes: | Although previously claimed as recorded from South Africa, these records probably concern specimens of D. rungweensis, a closely related species (McMurtry et al., 2008). This would mean that D. zimbabweensis is a near-endemic. |
