Description: |
Terrestrial herb, 20 - 35 cm. Leaves 2, basal, appressed to the ground, broadly ovate to almost round, silvery green with darker reticulate veining. Several small bract-like leaves along the flowering stem. Inflorescence laxly 3-12-flowered. Flowers pale green or whitish. Dorsal sepal erect, convex, forming a hood; lateral sepals strongly reflexed. Petals 2-lobed; upper lobes erect, short, ovate, adnate to the dorsal sepal; lower lobes filiform 2-3 cm, deflexed or spreading. Lip 3-lobed c. 2 mm from the base; mid-lobe linear, c. 8 mm; side lobes filiform, 2-3 cm, similar to anterior petal lobes. Spur 2-3.5 cm, somewhat incurved, slightly swollen at the apex. |

Derivation of specific name: | trilobulata: three-lobed. A rather odd label since nearly all species of Habenaria have a distinctly 3-lobed lip. |
