Description:
Slender terrestrial, 20-35 cm tall. Leaves 4-8, along the stem, the lower leaves sheath-like. Inflorescence up to 10 cm, fairly densely several to many-flowered; bracts leaf-like longer than the lowermost flowers. Flowers yellowish-green with purple spots on the insides of petals and lip. Sepals projecting forwards. Lip 5-7 mm long, saccate but not forming a spur, 3-lobed near the apex. Lobes triangular, side lobes slightly broader than the mid-lobe.
Notes: Although apparently not yet recorded from the Mozambique side of the Chimanimani Mts it is likely to occur there.
Derivation of specific name: inhambanensis: of Inhambane, in Mozambique, where the type was collected.
Habitat: In damp grassland.
Altitude range: Up to 2000 m
Flowering time:Jan - Feb
Worldwide distribution: Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
